Creative Writing I

by Mira Mookerjee

Over a six-week creative writing course, we gathered together to explore the theme of movement through poetry and short stories.

With the guidance of writer and editor Mira Mookerjee, participants delved into the work of contemporary London writers, including the work of Benjamin Zephaniah, EA Markham, Giselle Cory, Jackie Kay, Elif Shafak, Oli Isaac, Bernardine Evaristo and Christy Lefter. Together, we engaged in exercises to investigate how literature can reflect, challenge, and enrich our understanding of the world around us. Attendees learnt how to write their own poetry and short stories, strengthen their creative voices and sharpen thier craft. Read their orginal work below.
